Let's stop this very interesting and intelligent discussion of the show and open it up to questions along the lines of 'Who's your favourite superhero?' and 'Why do you like clothes?'.
Fucking comic-con audiences are enough to put anyone off going to comic-con.
This was not the "best season by far". Of course the show is still excellent overall, but S4 is poorly paced (many similar fan comments confirm this). There's a significant difference between most of its episodes vs. its last ones, and I hope S5 improves on this.
For example, "Something Stupid" and "Coushatta" really stand out. Full of momentum, character exploration and emotional drama, humor and horror, fan service, new conflicts and questions, and wrapping up sub-arcs. Versus just showing people going through daily motions (crudely speaking). Yet this is the tail-end of a season, which was already delayed so long. It's not like I'd have written anything differently, but it often feels like one episode being stretched to two. There's too much left to explore to waste any time lollygagging. I know we don't want to eat the whole bag of chips at once, but we also don't want to nibble at each one.
Then again, maybe the binge-watching, on-demand generation has spoiled me, and watching the entire S4 at once would show that it actually is the best so far. Either way, no insult to the cast and crew, of one of the best shows of the decade.
I binged the whole show, and it's obvious that season 4 was a lot slower, but I think that's just because of story reasons - with Chuck out of the picture, Jimmy no longer has an antagonist to go up against, all he's doing this season is basically breaking down the last of his moral fiber until he becomes Saul Goodman in the finale. I feel like maybe they could've started integrating him with the cartel storyline more instead of just having him sell phones.
I hope Kim to end up being more corrupt than Saul. So much smarter and than the cast of BrBa. Even though she wasn't ever in it, she was behind the scenes. Maybe only ever talking to Saul over the phone or something. Saul had all sorts of connections and I hope Kim is one of them.
i genuinely hope for an epic end-of-relationship fight that makes a huge impact on Saul after which she disappears from the show in a sense that she goes her separate way. Perhapse years later Saul bumping into her on the streets, catching up with Kim's new life. That's an opportunity for another big emotional examination of Saul's character and Kim's as well, but she would be irrelevant at that point..
The thing with Kim is that she is the girl that always did things "right" in her life. Great grades in school, great job, great manners,.. except that they were things that society, parents wanted her to do, not she herself. You know, the classic "you should do this and that" talk. Well, she did everything they told her she should do and while being flawless at it, she simultaneously oppressed the rebellious voice in her head (that everyone one of us has to some degree and that seems to be in control of Jimmy) that said she can do whatever she wants in a way she wants and that she doesnt have to live up to parents' nor anyones expectations. She is attracted to Jimmy because, with Jimmy around, she can be Giselle, the opressed voice, without being judged and that's a very freeing experience for her. But with the last scene of season 4, Kim realizes that she cant trust him AT ALL, because he fooled her with that speech as well, which means either break up or Jimmy embracing his deep hatred for brother and others or Kim transforming into the same person. We know Saul Goodman from breaking bad is coming so i just hope that they dont ruin, atm, a little bit confused Kim, by keeping her in this mess for too long.
+Oscar Yeager "I provided sources to back up what he was saying."
No, you didn't, you stupid fucking twat. You repeated what some David Brent type said in a pub!
That's not a source, you stupid incel twat.
Provided sources. I can't stop laughing at this.
You failed university in your first year, didn't you?
Provided sources! I'm gonna be laughing at this for weeks to come.
I imagine you saying that in a daft robot voice, you stupid twat.
Oh mate, you really need to find a way to stop being such a fucking dullard. They are never gonna shag you. Ever.
I provided sources for this comment. They are everywhere, can you see them?
What a twat.
+Raskolnikov32 "Not unless you finally use that hammer on them. They're asking for it, mate. Just asking for it." Please get help.
"That first reply about women's value on the sexual market... Fuck me, man. Incel to fuck. What a weird thing to say to another human being." That was the point that the original commenter made. I provided sources to back up what he was saying. Your emotional outbursts have done nothing to disprove this.
Now, this is fun and all but it has to end eventually. You can keep repeating your bizarre and oddly specific sexual fantasies about raping 12 year old girls in black duster jackets and using hammers on them if you like, and more power to you, but I think I have to be the bigger person here. Unless you can provide an actual counter argument to what Bob Meyer said this is the end of the conversation.
+Oscar Yeager I really fucking nailed exactly who you are. Wow. Did I ever.
That first reply about women's value on the sexual market... Fuck me, man. Incel to fuck. What a weird thing to say to another human being.
The fact that you repeated your point about your sexual fantasies in BOTH replies... Yep. I got ya.
Any day now, mate. You'll do it. You'll buy that black duster jacket...
Any day now.
it could just be a cameo, like walt and his wife shopping at the grocery store or something. jut have them in the background talking among themselves while we gawk like, "uhhh, that's fuckin' walter white, dude."
He got robbed for his amazing work in Breaking Bad season 4. They gave the Emmy to Aaron Paul ( who did nothing that impressive with his performance in season 4 ) but they should've given it to Giancarlo Esposito because his performance was AMAZING! He was the star of season 4 and anyone who knows anything about acting knows that he is far superior to Aaron Paul.
when it came time for the panel to answer "who they'd like to grab a beer with," if I were to have walked up to the mic, I would've chimed in to that question with a choice of my own, and a compliment. i would love to party with whoever the Music Editor for Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul is/are. because whoever that is, all I can say is me and them are on the same musical wavelength. we would have a gas. such a wide variety of tastes, from Blue Mink to the Limeliters, Slade, on and on. don't know if Gilligan is like Scorcese, who knows EXACTLY what songs he wants to accentuate which scenes or sequences, or if it's the sole propriety of the Music Editor. whoever does it on those shows is absolutely righteous.the choices of music propel the excellent writing, acting and production to even higher levels. it's a big reason why these shows resonate with viewers. and musicians like myself.
CinePresto they didn’t give away the wristbands until like an hour after due date and the weird red robot people who were handing them out. It was not worth it honestly mostly cuz my Nintendo switch died half way thru.
I think Saul is very like the Breaking Bad Saul. As mentioned, almost all we saw him do is handling clients in this very comical way and I see that in his talks to the grannies, too. When we didn't see him handling clients, I think Saul was very like Jimmy (e.g. sitting in that basement with Walt)
i guess the question i would've asked would be: at the time of this Comic-Con discussion, how many episodes of Season Four were already in the can, and how many were still left to shoot? seemed to me that the creators talked about certain plot and character "unknowns," suggesting that the Season wasn't fully fleshed out just yet, either on film or on paper. so, they actually begin filming a Season without necessarily knowing where it (and the characters) are ultimately headed?
they break each episode as they go throughout the production process (write an episode, film it, repeat). It's a pretty uncommon format from what I understand, but it was the same way they made Breaking Bad. To answer your though, I think they were just about wrapped with production of season 4 when they did this panel.
I feel about this cast the way I felt about the cast of The Wire. These guys should never be not working. Years later, if I see Clarke Peters or Seth Gilliam on something I'll probably watch it just because they're on it. Pretty much anyone on that cast I enjoy watching and I feel the same way about these actors. You get that little familiarity buzz when you see them.
They could even have it turn out that the entirety of Better Call Saul was a story Saul made up while being interrogated like Verbal Kent/Keyser Soze to try and better his chances and he'd always been the scumbag he is in Breaking Bad. Only a few years pass between the end of season three of Better Call Saul and the beginning of Breaking Bad, and there's the transformation to accomplish in that length of time along with multiple marriages and the establishment of his reputation as Saul Goodman as a lawyer, that is if the marriages actually occurred. I'm not sure I've even seen the episode of Breaking Bad in which they're mentioned.
