In high school I would sit in class and breath like I was walking fast 1 second breath breaks. Tao chi is very good. If your lazy and don't like to move much.

Excellent presentation! I was really glad that he mentioned ketosis at the end. For older people that's a gold mine. You can only workout so much in your 60's and 70's (reduced hormones contribute to slower recovery), and dieting can be tricky with blood sugar issues and other things that crop up as you age...but fasting 12-14 hours in the twilight hours while eating a balanced diet in the daytime (and some gentle weight training and an hour of modest aerobics a day) can be a very nice way to go. It's also good for resisting Alzheimers.

Eat less and move more is easy? Not if there are false messages being sent to your brain. For instance with an underactive thyroid. You feel exhausted and can't move even at a normal rate so you get hungry because your body is telling your brain "more fuel needed" so you obey the call and eat more but it doesn't get used up because you are underactive

Over the years it was calories and energy. A DOCTOR gave you a diet sheet with say 12oo calories for a woman. He advised exercise. Case closed. You followed it and lost weight. However, most then gained it all back creating a cycle. So, I think life style choice is a better way than a diet. You need a plan that suits you that you can live with for a lifetime. It still means knowing how many calories you eat and how many you can eat without gaining weight back. Depriving yourself won't work. If you incorporate foods you like into the plan you will succeed. It can be complicated for some folks. You may have issues that you need a therapist to help you with. Main cause of failure IMO is speed. People want the pounds gone fast. Take your time , make adjustments slowly. Good luck.

Ketosis is not low protein diet, its low carbohydrates diet. He made a few mistakes but the general point was very well explained!

Not too credible when he states "17 tsp" and then starts throwing in sugar by heaping spoonfuls. 17 teaspoons is 2.83 ounces or slightly over 1/3 cup. He has about double that.

Unfortunately its not that easy in many cases.... he didnt talk about the importance of hormonal effects on the metabolism at all. And saying that ketosis leads to ketoacidosis no matter what isnt true also. Its more than calories in = calories out. If you wanna know more, i recommend the channel "What ive learned" - the guy analysis all kinds of studies about this kind of topics and hes doing a really great job in explaining how the body works.

All you people going “oh you didn’t account for slow metabolisms and illnesses etc” he doesn’t have to because it’s always going to come back to if you are expending more than you are taking in. For example if your metabolism is half as fast as the average person, then adjust your portions and exercise to that.

So, by this logic, running would probably yield more results in regard to weight loss than swimming. Swimming requires you to hold your breath at times thus causing you to expel less carbon dioxide, while running encourages you to hyperventilate, promoting higher loss of carbon dioxide. Am I wrong? Tell me I'm wrong. Cause I hate running...

itsinsane That's protein. A protein molecule has a nitrgen atom with a hydrogen and oxgen atom also a sugar molecule attached. Break down a protein you get H2O, CO2 and ammonia (Nitrogen) excreted in your urine.

Wrong title, wrong math. There is energy on the left, input side too. If you eat food, you eat calories what is energy stored. And that comes out of your body as heat or energy/movement as correctly stated by several of the people on the street. Bad scientist.

He is totally right. Ingest less carbohydrates and oxidate your lipocytes by breathing more, which can be done easily and effective by doing cardiovascular exercise. That´s how I loss aroung 20 kg in one month and a half.

No accounting for how your body adapts to eating less and moving more: by repeatedly halving your mitochondria where the chemical reactions that break the lipids down actually happen, thus continually eroding your ability to lose that mass - potentially forever unless you can reverse it. If "eat less move more" was really such an easy solution that wasn't physiologically adapted to quickly then yo-yo dieting wouldn't be a thing.

10 kg = 10kg. You add a whole lot of oxygen so 9kg of co2 is probably more like 20-40kg (sorry at a traffic light)
